UGANDA HOSTS THE 15TH IFATSEA AFRICA REGIONAL MEETING

The Government of Uganda has pledged to work together with other African countries to leverage emerging technologies in aviation, enhancing safety and efficiency across the continent.
Building on this commitment, Uganda’s Civil Aviation Authority, led by Chairman Justice Steven B. Kavuma, Chairman of the UCAA Board, is spearheading a pivotal event to revolutionize aviation safety and efficiency in Africa, following a recent tragic plane crash in India.
The 15th African Region Meeting of IFATSEA has kicked off at Speke Resort Hotel in Munyoyo, uniting over 100 aviation safety engineering experts for cutting-edge discussions, exhibitions, and networking opportunities.
Justice Steven B. Kavuma, representing Minister Gen. Katumba Wamala, emphasized the importance of navigating the rapidly evolving digital landscape, stating, “This meeting comes at a pivotal moment when technological advancements are reshaping the global aviation landscape.”
Minister Katumba Wamala’s message highlighted the Government’s pledge to collaborate with other African nations to harness emerging technologies, ensuring a safe aviation sector crucial for Africa’s economic growth and development.
Eng. Frank Kofi, President of IFATSEA, underscored the meeting’s significance in fostering collaboration and innovation among aviation professionals, driving a safer and more efficient aviation sector in Africa.
Running from June 17 to 19, 2025, the conference features exhibitions, technical sessions, and networking engagements, shaping a digitally competent and safety-focused aviation sector in Africa.
