Liverpool Forward Diogo Jota dies in a car crush

Liverpool and Portugal footballer Diogo Jota and his younger brother Andre Silva have died in a car crash in Spain.

Liverpool FC have released a statement regarding the death of Diogo Jota.

“Liverpool Football Club are devastated by the tragic passing of Diogo Jota.
The club have been informed the 28-year-old has passed away following a road traffic accident in Spain along with his brother, Andre.
Liverpool FC will be making no further comment at this time and request the privacy of Diogo and Andre’s family, friends, teammates and club staff is respected as they try to come to terms with an unimaginable loss.
We will continue to provide them with our full support”

In the space of just over a month Diogo Jota won the Premier League, the UEFA Nations League and married the love of his life. He was also the proud father of three young children.

Jota’s last goal came against Everton in a derby win.
