More than 400 police officers finished a training session at the Police Skilling Center.

Over 400 police officers completed a training session at the Police Skilling Center yesterday, aimed at enhancing their investigation skills in areas such as politics, the 2026 elections, and national development initiatives including the CID, Canine Unit, Forensics, and PSU.

The chief guest, Minister of State for Internal Affairs Gen. David Muhoozi, commended the police for this initiative but expressed concern about criminals continually developing new tactics..

In response, Police Chief Abas Byakagaba assured Gen. Muhoozi that the officers had acquired adequate skills to tackle these challenges, including election security and combating criminal innovation.

Meanwhile, CID Chief AIGP Tom Magambo Rwabudongo urged the officers to uphold the police force’s reputation during the 2026 elections, emphasizing the importance of protecting citizens and meeting expectations.
