Missing 16-Year-Old Girl Found Dead in Luwero District

A 16-year-old girl who went missing on Wednesday has been found dead.
The victim has been identified as Jane Anyango, a daughter to Teopista Auma a resident of Kagembe village in Makulubita sub-county.
Moses Male, a resident says that Anyango disappeared on Wednesday when her mother had sent her to take maize to the grain milling machine at the nearby village.
Male says that residents and the mother launched investigations after she failed to return home in vain.
On Thursday the residents were shocked to find her dead body dumped in a water pond.
Isah Ssemwogerere, the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson says that Policemen from Bombo Police Station picked the body and transferred it to Mulago National Referral Hospital for postmortem.
Ssemwogerere added that the body had wounds on the breast and abdomen. He adds that investigations into her death are ongoing and the police are yet to arrest any suspect in the murder.
In August this year, unknown thugs stabbed 60-year-old Emmanuel Mayungwe, a resident of Kiremera village in Makulubita sub-county.
His body was found lying in a pool of blood around 8:30 pm on Wednesday night with multiple cuts. It is alleged that the deceased was walking back home on a feeder road when he was stabbed.
According to the Police Crime report, at least 107 people lost their lives in Luwero in 2020.
Thirteen of the deceased died in mob justice, six committed suicide while two people were poisoned.
The report further reveals that four people were killed in domestic violence whereas 51 people were killed in unidentified circumstances.
