Four Arrested for Murder of Man over Woman in Namisindwa

Police in Namisindwa District have arrested four people on allegations of killing their colleague after suspecting him of having an amorous relationship with a wife to one of them.
The Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, Rogers Taitika, confirmed the incident, saying the suspects were arrested on Sunday following the brutal killing of the deceased.
Taitika identified the suspects who are reportedly ganged and beat saac Ekiringi to death as one Mukwana, Fred Omeseti, Mika Obwana and Wanzala.
The murder took place in Bunandele village in Namboko Sub-County in Namisindwa district. Taitika said the decesead was accused by Fred Omasete of snatching his woman friend, one Irene Nelima Dorcus.
“The suspects were linked to a murder case where a man was allegedly assaulted and murdered by a group of four people,” Taitika told URN.
According to the report, the deceased was accused of having love affairs with one of the suspect’s wife. Witnesses have described to police how the suspects, killed the deceased mercilessly even as he was pleading with them to spare his life.
Police said the body has been taken to Mbale City mortuary for postmortem as investigations continue.
The four suspects are currently detained at Namisindwa central police station withthe case registered under SD Reference 04/04/11/2021.
Police say they will be arraigned in Courts of law and charged with murder contrary to section 188 and 289 of the penal code Act.
