ISIS claims responsibility for bomb attack in Uganda

The Islamic state claimed responsibility for the Komamboga bomb attack that went off on Saturday 23, October claiming the life of 20-year-old waitress and leaving three severely injured. The explosion came one week after the UK government issued an alert about terrorism in Uganda.
According to Reuters, the militant group posted this statement in an affiliated Telegram channel yesterday.
This is not the first pronounced bomb attack Uganda has had, on 11 July 2010, suicide bombings were carried out against crowds watching a screening of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final at two locations in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. The attacks left 74 dead and 85 injured. According to eyewitnesses, there was an explosion near the 90th minute of the match, followed seconds later by a second explosion that knocked out the lights at the field. The discovery of a severed head and leg at the rugby field suggests that it was a suicide attack.
Al-Shabaab, an Islamist militia based in Somalia that has ties to al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the blasts as retaliation for Ugandan support for AMISOM.
