Gun Belonging to Killed Ruharo Police OC Recovered in Rukungiri

The Police in Rukungiri has recovered the gun belonging to Richard Agaba, the Officer-in-charge Ruharo Police Post who was killed last month.

Agaba was shot dead by armed robbers who had attacked Step Up bar in Kiyanja cell, Ruharo ward.

Police are holding one of the suspected killers of the former Officer in Charge of Ruharo Police Post in Mbarara City.

Col. James Mwesigye the Resident City Commissioner Mbarara, says that the gun was recovered from a suspected robber Dominic Twinomugisha, 19 years a resident of Katete cell in Mbarara City.

Mwesigye says that Twinomugisha was arrested in Rukungiri municipality last week following an armed robbery at For God Electronics. During the robbery, one person was shot dead and another injured.

According to Mwesigye, police records indicate that the recovered gun SMG NO UGPOL56582399632575 belonged to Agaba.

The arrest of Twinomugisha brings the number of suspects in Agaba’s murder to two. Last month the police arrested James Tumusiime a Boda Boda rider from Kiyanja cell, Mbarara City.

Earlier last month Police recovered a gun registration number SAR 2691820 at the crime scene and it was alleged that it belonged to Agaba.
