5 suspects arrested in connection to 3 murder cases in Kabale

KABALE– The Police in Kabale district have arrested more five suspects in connection to the murder of Akampurira, Akampereza and Niwagaba.
Elly Maate the Kigezi region police spokesperson identified the arrested suspects as Twemere Divera, Night Immaculate, Gahungu Julius, Javira and Levi all from Kigata parish in kyanamira subcounty, Kabale district.
Maate said that yesterday at around 0600hrs officers from homicide together with other operations team from Kabale Cps proceeded to Ruboroga cell Kigata parish in Kyanamira sub county and arrested more five suspects on addition to the first eight suspects already in Ndorwa prison who participated in killing of one Akampurira, Akampereza and Niwagaba.
It’s alleged that the suspects on 19/08/2021 killed the trio on mere allegations that they had stolen a pig which was later found on the next day at the home of the complainant.
Maate also said that after completion of inquiries, these suspects will also be produced before the courts of law to answer charges accordingly.
The case of progressive report of murder by mob justice has been registered at Kabale central police station under reference number CRB 716/2021.
