The assistant court registrar of the Kampala lands court at Twed Towers, Kintu Moses Zirintuusa has read a court dismissal of a petition filed by Damani family, Indians contesting ownership of Ssemuliki plot 2 Kampala.
According to court the contested land legally belongs to Ephraim Ntaganda who now holds ownership tittle from the Kamapala lands board that he changed to Ivan Byaruhanga then to Buko minerals and oils Ltd.
The applicants Jyot Damani and her daughter Hema Damani, say they acquired lease on the property since 1994, due to expire in 2025 and from no where they came to see Ntagali hold a tittle for the same land before there lease is expired.
The Damani family on the other way had applied for the renewal of the lease through the Kampala Capital City Planning Authority which was to be fowarded to the Kampala District Lands Board and finalise the renewal.
These now question court’s ruling in argument that its not based on facts. With the court’s ruling the regestrar says the they should not go on with the petition which they are saying its not of there fevour.
The dissatisfied applicants are now looking at other options for a fair hearing so as to aquire there land back before the ongoing lease expires.
