The Police in Amuru district are holding a man for allegedly kicking his three-year-old stepson to death. Sunday Komakech reportedly kicked the minor on Saturday evening from Kati Kati A village in Palwong Parish, Pabbo Sub-county in Amuru District.

Police identified the deceased as 3-year-old Twero Ogenrwot. According to a Preliminary Police report, the suspect found the deceased playing by the roadside despite warning him not to leave home and kicked the minor killing him instantly.

David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson, says the suspect attempted to hide the body of the deceased about 50 meters from the crime scene but it was found by neighbors.

Mudong says the suspect was later apprehended by the police and is currently in custody at Pabbo Police station pending investigations. The deceased body according to Mudong was taken to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem.

He notes that the minor wouldn’t have met his death had his stepfather taken up the responsibility of guiding instead of punishing him.

Meanwhile, police in Nwoya District are investigating circumstances that led to the death of an unidentified person whose skeletal remains were discovered on Sunday.

The remains of the yet-to-be-identified individual were discovered by young boys in a bush in Lapem village in Coorom Parish, Koch Goma Sub-county.

Mudong says statements were recorded from neighbors in the area, adding that the remains were retrieved by the homicide team and taken to Anaka General Hospital for postmortem to ascertain the cause of death.
