Three siblings in Apac district are in police custody for killing their father in a domestic brawl. The siblings assaulted their 45-year-old Denis Okwir a resident of Rwakisaza Village, Aganga parish in Ibuje Sub County to death on Sunday evening following a misunderstanding with their mother.
Trouble started when Okwir returned home around 6 pm from a drinking joint and picked a quarrel with his wife, Hellen Akello over unknown reasons leading to a fight. This prompted the couple’s children namely Jackson Obia, 24, Ronald Akena 22 and Caesar Ayoo 18 to intervene and beat up their father.
He was rushed to a private clinic in Igoti trading center, Aganga parish where medics pronounced him dead on arrival. Police swung into action and picked up the three siblings. They are locked up at Apac Central Police Station.
Christopher Ongu, the Officer in charge Ibuje Ibuje Police Station, says that detectives visited the scene of crime and collected exhibits to aid their ongoing investigations.
Alex Ogota, the LC 3 Chairperson of Ibuje Sub County and resident of Rwakisaza Village decried increasing cases of domestic violence in the area. He asked mothers to nurture their children to equally value their fathers to mitigate such cases.
